{"id":18845,"date":"2022-05-24T10:35:00","date_gmt":"2022-05-24T09:35:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/algarve7.pt\/?p=18845"},"modified":"2022-05-24T09:27:50","modified_gmt":"2022-05-24T08:27:50","slug":"cientistas-desenvolvem-novo-material-que-pode-substituir-o-plastico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/algarve7.pt\/index.php\/2022\/05\/cientistas-desenvolvem-novo-material-que-pode-substituir-o-plastico\/nacional\/10\/35\/","title":{"rendered":"Cientistas desenvolvem novo material que pode substituir o pl\u00e1stico"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Uma equipa de investigadores liderada pela Universidade de Coimbra (UC) desenvolveu um substituto do pl\u00e1stico a partir de nanocelulose combinada com um mineral fibroso, totalmente biodegrad\u00e1vel e biocompat\u00edvel, com v\u00e1rias aplica\u00e7\u00f5es, por exemplo, em embalagens alimentares e impress\u00f5es eletr\u00f3nicas, abrindo portas \u00e0 fabrica\u00e7\u00e3o de pl\u00e1sticos mais sustent\u00e1veis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O novo material foi desenvolvido ao longo dos \u00faltimos tr\u00eas anos, em parceria com o Instituto Polit\u00e9cnico de Tomar (IPT) e a Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI), e com a colabora\u00e7\u00e3o da empresa espanhola TOLSA,&nbsp; no \u00e2mbito do projeto \u201cFilCNF: Nova gera\u00e7\u00e3o de filmes comp\u00f3sitos de nanofibrilas de celulose e part\u00edculas minerais como materiais de elevada resist\u00eancia mec\u00e2nica e propriedades de barreira a gases\u201d, financiado, no valor de 190 mil euros, pela Funda\u00e7\u00e3o para a Ci\u00eancia e a Tecnologia (FCT) e pelo Fundo Europeu de Desenvolvimento Regional (FEDER).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esta nova solu\u00e7\u00e3o ecol\u00f3gica, que na pr\u00e1tica se traduz numa nova classe de filmes comp\u00f3sitos, foi produzida a partir de \u00ab<strong>nanocelulose, obtida atrav\u00e9s de processos mec\u00e2nicos, qu\u00edmicos e enzim\u00e1ticos, combinada com um mineral fibroso, um recurso geol\u00f3gico que permite a redu\u00e7\u00e3o de custos e a melhoria de propriedades mec\u00e2nicas e de barreira muito importantes. Mec\u00e2nicas, porque estes filmes t\u00eam de ser resistentes, e de barreira, dado que estes filmes t\u00eam de possuir impermeabilidade aos gases, ou seja, resist\u00eancia ao ambiente<\/strong>\u00bb, afirmam Jos\u00e9 Gamelas e Lu\u00eds Alves, coordenador do projeto e investigador principal do estudo, respetivamente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A grande inova\u00e7\u00e3o deste novo substituto do pl\u00e1stico, segundo os dois investigadores do Centro de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o em Engenharia dos Processos Qu\u00edmicos e dos Produtos da Floresta (CIEPQPF) da Faculdade de Ci\u00eancias e Tecnologia da UC (FCTUC), \u00e9 o uso de\u00ab<strong>minerais fibrosos, <\/strong><strong>que n\u00e3o t\u00eam qualquer risco para a sa\u00fade, e tamb\u00e9m a prepara\u00e7\u00e3o dos filmes por filtra\u00e7\u00e3o, o que acelera muito o processo de produ\u00e7\u00e3o. Por exemplo, com o processo convencional pode durar uma semana at\u00e9 se obter os filmes, enquanto que, atrav\u00e9s do m\u00e9todo por filtra\u00e7\u00e3o, n\u00f3s conseguimos ter os mesmos filmes em poucas horas e com melhores propriedades<\/strong>\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Os resultados obtidos at\u00e9 agora s\u00e3o altamente promissores, demonstrando que esta pode ser uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o de futuro vi\u00e1vel. Aumentar a escala de produ\u00e7\u00e3o, otimizar processos e explorar as propriedades destes filmes para outras aplica\u00e7\u00f5es, nomeadamente para restauro de livros antigos, ser\u00e3o os pr\u00f3ximos passos do projeto. Isto porque, avan\u00e7am Jos\u00e9 Gamelas e Lu\u00eds Alves, \u00ab<strong>embora o projeto tenha sido pensado para embalagens alimentares e eletr\u00f3nica impressa, h\u00e1 muitas outras aplica\u00e7\u00f5es que podem beneficiar desta solu\u00e7\u00e3o, tais como a conserva\u00e7\u00e3o\/restauro de documentos importantes em suporte de papel que tenham problemas de degrada\u00e7\u00e3o com o envelhecimento<\/strong>\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o massiva de pl\u00e1sticos e a \u00ab<strong>incapacidade de fazer uma reciclagem apropriada \u00e9 cada vez mais um tema de grande import\u00e2ncia na sociedade contempor\u00e2nea.
